Hello, I’m Samantha - a HCPC registered art psychotherapist. I have worked in supporting roles with children, young people and adults for over 20 years, initially within the education and charity sectors, and now as a psychotherapist. I have also been involved in community art projects over the years, including painting large wall murals in schools and for charities.

I have been working as an art psychotherapist since qualifying fourteen years ago. The main focus of my work has been with children and young people in primary and secondary schools and I have worked privately in my own practice for over 8 years providing individual art therapy for young people and adults with varying mental health, emotional, social and wellbeing needs.

I believe that every individual is unique and provide an art therapy service which reflects this, working from a person centred, psychodynamic approach.

I am passionate about art psychotherapy and fully believe in the transformative effect it can have. I have experience working with a range of mental health and emotional well-being needs. I offer an initial consultation free of charge, where we can have a chat about your requirements and I can answer any questions you may have.

You don't need to have any previous experience or skill in art making - art therapy focuses on reflecting together about the process and experience of creating/making art, helping to express and understand feelings that could otherwise be difficult to verbalise.

Samantha is registered with the HCPC and the BAAT and adheres to their professional codes of conduct. You can check Samantha’s registration details here: www.hcpc-uk.org/check-the-register/
